Cosmetologist program

The primary purpose of the Cosmetology program is to train the student in basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits and desirable attitudes necessary for entry level positions in Cosmetology or a related career avenue.

The cosmetology program consists of 60 credit hours of instruction of both theoretical and practical skill development required for licensure by the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Theory and practice precede laboratory activities and students must complete the theory and practical for each exercise in the Basic Freshman curriculum and receive a passing grade on each exercise before being allowed to participate in laboratory activities. Theory and practice are integrated throughout the course.

The Office of Barber and Cosmetologist Licensing/designated testing agency conducts all examinations in English and applicants shall submit answers in English. All education and learning environments in our school are conducted in English, to include classroom activity and clinic floor education.
